I don't like confrontation but that is exactly how I started the morning. Kailee came by to pick up Mike's W2s and she had to start in about recent events. I pretty much told her how I felt about her running to mom tio stir up trouble and so she stormed off in a huff. I hope she will stop carrying tales between the family members and that she will do as she said and reimburse us for the weeks we supported her and Mike. Her figures of what she owes us aren't exactly in line with our count. I guess we will never see the full amount so Dail will probably not get a vacation for a while. Mike has talked her into doing some things that I disapprove of. I won't explain further than that but let's just say that my opinion has changed. Kailee could get in serious trouble for things she has done for him and I don't appreciate him putting her at risk. I can only hope that she will eventually grow tired of Mike as she did all the others. I wish she would set her sights a little higher. I don't really want to talk about this anymore so, I'll stop now.
Last night was a fun night with Dail. I loved the Twin Peaks episodes we have watched so far. I like agent Cooper a lot. I love that he is a fan of cherry pie. That happens to be my favorite too and I have to keep a tight rein on myself to keep from diving into a cherry pie whenever he mentions it. Of course, I don't have any in the house so that helps me to avoid it. I can see why it was such a popular show. It is very interesting and strange and touching all at the same time.
I am not doing anything special right now. Just waiting for my pork steak to get done. That will be my lunch. I'm starving.

Somewhere a little jewish girl says "bypass and bacon". Yumm. All the best. 8 strips of bacon and mayo on white toast was my go to meal in the day. Love me some bacon
ReplyDeleteLOL Allan. I love my bacon but I'm not too fond of bread. Low carbing is almost easy for me because I love meat and once I'm detoxed from carbs I don't have much trouble leaving them alone. Only when I'm stressed do I fall back on my old comfort foods.
ReplyDeleteMoney can be a cause of a whole lotta friction. Sometimes, the best thing to do is say, "The slate is clean. We won't be giving you any more cash in future, but let's considers all debts washed clean and nothing owed and start fresh."
ReplyDeleteOnly cause the ongoing resentment can get so bad. I know...boy, do I know. I've had to wash that slate clean myself just to say, "Peace is more valuable."
I hope she stops doing the iffy stuff. Legal problems--hoo boy, nobody needs that stuff in one's life. May God pour some sense and a 'snap out of it" bit of grace on her.
Take care. Enjoy the pork chops. I love pork chops with lots of onions. I only eat the nice middle bit, the lean part. Hubby and I end up wasting a lot of the fatty bit, but hey, since I was a kid, I just liked that center bit. :D
You are right, Princess. The money isn't worth the aggravation and it is Mike who owes us and not Kailee. We have never charged Kailee for living with us and in fact gave her an allowance for helping around the house. It is just one in a long list of things she has done lately that has me concerned.
ReplyDeletePork steak is different from pork chops. It is more marbled and more tender and harder to find. If I weren't on Atkins I wouldn't want meat that has as much fat. I love it though and as long as I avoid the carbs I don't mind the added fat.
I wish you didn't have the stress of your daughter....it makes me angry at her for not supporting you. Her feelings are not your fault. You're a good mom.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Drazil. It has been a bad day but things will be okay again. I just need some space to regain my composure. She and Mike seem to be doing well on their own. I just wish I could trust her not to talk about me to my mother behind my back. That is what makes me feel so bad.
ReplyDeleteYou had me at pork steak, wait, that sounds odd.
